About the Golf Course

Fossil Island Golf Course

A 9 Hole golf course in the small coal mining town of Kemmerer,  Wyoming. The course is nestled in along the Hams Fork River. It was designed by Dick Phelps in the early 1920s. He has designed over one hundred golf courses. The course has been modified several times.  Most recently in the mid 2000s the course expanded by building a duel island green. It’s the only duel Par 5 island green in the country. The course is owned and operated in conjunction with the City of Kemmerer. Nick Harding is the current PGA Professional and Broby Shannon is the current Course Superintendent.
